Black Tot Rare Old 40 Years Old Demerara Rum 70cl 44,2%Vol
One of the oldest examples of Demerara Rum in the world today, this was distilled in 1975 in the historic Port Mourant Double Wooden Vat Still while it was housed at the now demolished Uitvlugt distillery in Guyana.
Consider this rum to be one of ‘The Hearts of the Tot’, such was Guyana’s importance in the historic Navy Rum blend. 40 years of angel’s share has brought it to 44.2% ABV, which is this exceptionally rare rum its natural cask strength.

Description
TASTING NOTES:
NOSE
Dense liquorice, star anise and fruity black olives accompanied by heady cigar smoke and fragrant pine. Warm and ripe citrus fruit – orange and lemon peel – blends with spicy cinnamon and nutmeg.
PALATE
Thick, dark treacle and olive brine mixed with cherry concentrate, cigar smoke and charred wood. More smoke comes through on the palate, mixing with the flavours of plump sultanas, bittersweet raisins and juicy blackcurrants.
FINISH
The balance between sweet and savoury is extraordinary and keeps developing on the palate, creating a finish that lasts for an age.
