Dr. Clyde Belgian Rum Cask Strength 50cl 63,4%Vol.
Dr. Clyde rums are the first and to date the only rums distilled in Belgium. The raw material used is organic fair trade cane molasses that is imported from South America.
The molasses is fermented for 3 to 4 weeks. Under the action of yeasts, sugar is slowly converted into alcohol. The must (fermented alcohol) is titrated at about 14 ° when placed in the Pot Still, also called Charentais still. The distillation lasts from 12 to 18 hours and allows to produce a modest quantity of rum grading between 60 ° and 65 °. This white rum is then reworked to achieve the range of Dr. Clyde rums.
The Belgian Rum Cask Strenght
The “raw drum” version of the Belgian Rum has a variable alcohol content between 55 and 65 ° depending on the barrels. This rum is bottled directly from the barrel to the bottle, without reduction. This is the strongest, but also the most authentic Dr. Clyde rum, where fragrances are at their peak. A humorous label, handmade by Fenlyl (Olivier) pays tribute to the Comic Strip, an indisputable national art.
