On the southern coast, protected from the full force of the Atlantic Trade Winds, Old Bacolet was one of the first areas to be cultivated by the french. A flat flood plain between two small rivers, these alluvial soils – Plains clay loam & Woburn clay – & a high water table produce lush cane. For this rum they harvested the quick-growing variety called Cain from Josh’s Field, which stands on the terroir known as Riverside.

Description
The cane plant, rum’s primary raw ingredient, is the natural source of its flavour. Thus the land on which it grows & its microclimate determines its character. Therefore Renegade Rum chooses to explore the terroir’s of Grenada – one place, one farm, at a time: captured as fresh, vibrant spirit before cask ageing.
The modern marvel that is the Renegade Rum distillery was designed precisely to extol this individuality, with extended temperature-controlled fermentation for purity, & considered distillation for gravitas. They look to compare & contrast natural flavours, terroir by terroir. It is presented pre-cask: as unaged, freshcane juice spirit.
