Distillerie de Labourdonnais is set in a beautiful estate amidst orchards and sugar cane fields in the north of Mauritius.This little pearl in the Indian Ocean has a rich rum-making tradition.
A lot of industrial rum is being produced in Mauritius, but three traditional craft distilleries continue the French tradition producing distinctive and refined rums from pure sugarcane juice.
Labourdonnais was founded in 2006 as a resurrection of the old ‘Rhumerie des Mascareignes’.
The youngest of the artisanal distilleries, it combines the most modern techniques with tradition and know-how.

Nose: Fresh & light with vanilla & ripe orchard fruits, green apples, pears.
Taste: Juicy and citrusy with passion fruit, mango and melon. Créme brulée, brown sugar with slightly grassy, earthy and herbaceous notes.
Finish: Crisp, lingering sweetness and wood spices.
