Velier Clairin Sonson 2018 70cl 53,2%Vol

Clairin Sonson is produced by Stephan Kalil Saoud, who has been both a sugar cane producer and distiller since 1989. The Sonson is distilled exclusively from sugarcane syrup sourced from Cabaret, a small seaside village in the Arcahaie district, about an hour’s drive from Port-au-Prince. The sugarcane syrup is made from the indigenous sugarcane variety called ‘Madame Meuze’.

The land around the Sonson distillery is approximately 25 acres and offers an abundance of sugar cane, banana and other fruit trees. All these terroir characteristics influence the final rum, which is completely natural and organically produced. The rum is allowed to ferment for a good week and come into contact with the wild yeasts present around the distillery. Then the distillation takes place in batch stills. The final rum is bottled at distillation strength, offering a nice 53.2% ABV without undergoing any dilution. The result is an exceptional rum in its purest form!
