In a winter, a gentleman with a Caribbean accent visited the Weber Haus and was impressed with the quality of the cachacas that he had tasted. Before leaving, he challenged Evandro Weber to come up with a rum of excellence that could surpass the best labels of the Americas. The provocation stayed in Evandro’s head for years, until he decided to comply with the request of that mysterious visitor, from who he didn’t even know the name. Bottle 001 is on display at the Weber Haus boutique, on the Romantic Route of Rio Grande do Sul, waiting for the return of this ‘Senor’ to testify if the challenge has been met.

Description

The story of the Weber family begins in Brazil in 1824, when they migrated from the city of Hunsriick, in Germany, to the south of Brazil. The Webers settled in the forests on the slopes of the Sierra Gaticha, now the city of Ivoti, more precisely on a small plot of land, Lot 48.

At the beginning, the family, when acquiring land in the then unknown New World, started planting the English potato. Only in 1848, with the planting of sugar cane and following historical traditions, did they begin to produce cachaca targeted for own and local consumption.

The commercial entrance of the Distillery H. Weber occurs only a century after the first elaborated distillate. The distillery was built in 1948 and consisted of a mill powered by four mules.

From generation to generation, the search for innovation, quality and purity made the family improve its know-how and its distillery with
most modern production processes until the modern distillery Weber House is today.
