Originally from CUBA, the OLIVER family had to flee the island during the 1959 revolution. In the mid-1980s, one of them was able to return to Cuba, where he discovered documents relating to the development of the rum by his ancestors. The Oliver family, wanting to revive this tradition, set up a distillery in Santo Domingo, the climate and soils there being similar to those of their native island. The Oliver family offers a range of traditional Cuban rums (Cubaney) and another of rums (Ophtimus), aged in solera.

Tasting notes:
The nose is very marked with woody and roasted aromas, as well as toasted bread, molasses, toasted pecans and well-cooked caramel.
With aeration, the pecan settles in.
The mouth is well marked on the coffee, with an oxidative part which presents itself on the nut accompanied by pastry notes which remain on the gourmet finish with coconut and vanilla .
