TBYRC are revisiting the beautiful island of Mauritius with their Secret Distillery #10 release, but this time they’re not at liberty to share the name of the producer. The restrictions around use of name have changed a bit hence the reset to a Batch 1 release. But just to tease you a little, it’s worth pointing out that we could have (possibly) released something from this producer… Maybe….
This molasses Rum was distilled via a continuous column still, and matured in ex-bourbon cask American white oak. Oh, and it’s completely delicious and a cracking way to dive into the amazing Rum that Mauritius has to offer.

The beautiful island of Mauritius is so diverse in terms of the various styles of Rum it is known for; It really is the whole world of Rum in miniature and we wanted to make a reference to this. How many distilleries do you recognise?
Tasting Notes by Boutique-y Pete:
Nose: Initial waft of blue-cheese, ripe banana and pineapple, raisins, and royal icing. Lots of milk chocolate.
Palate: Soft and sweet onto the palate. Zesty seville orange, delicate notes of strawberry jam, and red seedless grapes.
Finish: More zesty seville orange giving way to candied cherries and tart tamarind. A gentle oak-y grip, and a delicate curry powder spice.
